Carbon Emission Reduction Project in Thai Plastic Industry


        Thai Plastics Industry Association together with Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Plasket.com Platform, and Plastics Institute jointly launched “Carbon Emission Reduction Project in Thai Plastics Industry” to jointly push Thai plastic operators to take action on carbon reduction.          Mr. Thanadkit Techanukulchai, President of the Thai Plastics Industry Association; Mr. Somkiat Lertritpuwadol Executive Vice President Corporate Business Development Strategy, IRPC Public Company Limited, Thailand; Mr. Wichiene Ngamsukkarsemsri, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) Co., Ltd.; Mr. Kraisri Phankitnirandorn, Managing Director of Plasket.com; Mr. Veera Kwanloetchit, Director of the Plastics Institute, and Ms. Phuangphan Srithong, Manager of Carbon Label Division Greenhouse Gas Management Organization Attended the opening seminar at Oriental Residence Hotel, Wireless Road on Aug. 25, 2022.




        It is well known that the situation around the world is now giving rise to the momentum for cooperation in balancing economic growth with the preservation of natural resources and the environment. One of the key driving issues is decarbonization. A report from the World Economic Forum sees the risk in 2022 as the most worrying thing. Failure to deal with climate change by countries around the world has led to extreme weather conditions such as floods and landslides, an environmental issue critical to the well-being of the world's population. And our world is now facing both obstacles and challenges on the path to climate sustainability. Whereas Thailand itself has set a goal for "Carbon Neutrality" in 2050 and moving towards a net zero emissions in 2065”. The path to zero carbon emissions is not easy, all sectors have to participate in the plastics industry, it is one of the industries with carbon emissions. So, the plastics industry needs Participate in the carbon reduction drive to move towards carbon neutrality as well.




        After that, Ms. Phuangphan Srithong, Manager of Carbon Label Division Greenhouse Gas Management Organization have created an understanding About the causes of the Carbon Emission Control Regulations Including details of fine regulations if the product does not meet the criteria for imported goods.

        This time, the Thai Plastics Industry Association together with Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Plasket.com. and the Plastics Institute work together to push Thai plastics entrepreneurs to take action on decarbonization in line with government policy and aim to achieve zero carbon removal from fossil fuels by Mr. Kraisri Phankitnirandorn, Managing Director of Plasket.com has invited plastic business operators to join the project “Reducing Carbon Emissions in Thai Plastics Industry” by mentioning the project objectives, action guidelines, project duration, understanding the criteria for selection of program participants, and knowing the benefits that will be gained from participation in the program and the privileges that the program sponsor offers to the participants.
